HUMMUS RECIPE

Hummus is a Middle Eastern dip made from chickpeas, tahini (sesame paste), lemon juice, garlic, and extra virgin olive oil. It is a staple in many Mediterranean and Arab cuisines and is known for its creamy texture, nutty flavor, and versatility.

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 can (15 oz) of chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 3 tablespoons of tahini
  • 3 tablespoons of freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon of cumin

  • 3-4 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
  • Water, as needed
  • Paprika and extra virgin olive oil, for garnish

 INSTRUCTIONS
  1. In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, cumin, and salt.
  2. Start processing the ingredients and gradually add in the extra virgin olive oil while the food processor is running.
  3. If the mixture is too thick, add water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until the desired consistency is achieved.
  4. Continue processing until the hummus is smooth and creamy, about 2-3 minutes.
  5. Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl and garnish with a sprinkle of paprika and a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil.
  6. Serve with fresh vegetables, crackers, or pita bread.

Spread hummus, not hate.
